VIN Scanner — Privacy Policy

Who is responsible
VIN Scanner is published by Netesa Oleksandr, who is the data controller. Contact for any privacy question: +48 453 457 668.
Camera
The camera picture is read on your phone only, to find the VIN. It is never sent anywhere, never stored by the app and never seen by us.
The VINs you check
To show details of a vehicle, the app sends its VIN — and nothing else — to the public vehicle database of the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA, vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov). A VIN identifies a vehicle, not a person. Without a network the app decodes the VIN on the phone.
The VINs you checked and the answers are kept on your phone only, as the history; you can delete any of them in the app. We do not receive them.
Ads
The app is free and shows ads from Google AdMob. To show and measure them, Google receives your device's advertising identifier, IP address, device and app information and how you interact with ads. Google's policy: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland the app asks for your consent first (Google's consent form) and shows non-personalised ads if you decline. You can change your choice any time: «Ad privacy» under the history. The iPhone app does not ask to track you across other companies' apps.
Crash reports
If the app crashes, Firebase Crashlytics (Google) receives a crash report: device model, system version, app version and where in the code it failed. It contains nothing you entered or scanned and is kept for 90 days.
What we do not do
No account, no sign-in, no purchases inside the app. We do not sell data and do not collect location, contacts or any files.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
Your rights
You can ask what data about you exists and ask to delete it: write to +48 453 457 668. For data held by Google, use Google's tools: https://myadcenter.google.com.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date above changes too.
